Built for reliable indexable drilling applications, the ZCMT080304 with Kyocera’s PR1225 grade delivers excellent wear resistance, stable hole quality, and dependable tool life when machining stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy steel. This insert is used as an outer-edge insert in compatible Kyocera Magic Drill systems, where cutting speed is highest and strong wear resistance is especially important.

The ZCMT geometry features a positive cutting design that helps reduce cutting resistance and supports efficient chip evacuation during drilling. PR1225 is a PVD-coated micro grain carbide grade featuring Kyocera’s MEGACOAT technology. It provides strong wear and oxidation resistance, good coating adhesion, and reliable performance in stable to light-interrupted drilling conditions. Kyocera recommends PR1225 for steel and stainless-steel milling and drilling applications.
